The retaliation against Ryan was illegal, just like the DOJ extortion attempts against “DEI” and the threats to rescind federal research contracts on cancer research etc.
As you said DEI, is NOT illegal but discrimination on the basis of race, religion, sex, IS illegal. As are policies of inequity in pay and the exclusion of people with disabilities etc in employment and admissions considerations.

Especially about the illegal kidnappings (“detained” is a euphemism when masked men are disappearing people. ) the failures to provide due process is making us look like a third world country under an autocratic ruler. and treating people seeking asylum , including minors, as if they are violent criminals, imprisoning them and using our tax dollars to shop to maximum security prison in El Salvador is beyond horrifying and indistinguishable from Hitler’s tactics and scapegoating.

Thank you for speaking up for our university against the assault by federal and state republicans trying to undermine the principles on which this university was founded. This, along with the assault on our nation’s democratic institutions, is creating a tyranny of small decisions that in total supports an authoritarian agenda. UVa needs to stand firm against this federal takeover of UVa’s president.
